Recommendation #55 To: Sacramento, California State University

To ensure the health and safety of students in a laboratory setting, beginning in the Fall 2018 semester, Sacramento should perform reviews at least annually to ensure that all departments are using the student training acknowledgement forms and are complying with the retention requirement.

1-Year Agency Response

Sacramento State has completed a review to ensure departments are using student safety training acknowledgment forms and are complying with the retention requirement for the forms. The campus has developed procedures for a similar review to be carried out on an annual basis.

California State Auditor's Assessment of 1-Year Status: Fully Implemented

Sacramento provided evidence that it performed a review in February 2019 to ensure that all departments are using the student safety training acknowledgement forms and are complying with the retention requirement. It also implemented a policy to ensure that this review process is conducted annually. To the extent that it follows this policy, Sacramento State has fully addressed this recommendation.

Sacramento State has initiated a review to ensure that all relevant departments are using student safety training acknowledgment forms and are complying with the retention requirement for the forms. Following the completion of this review, the campus will carry out a similar process on an annual basis.
