Recommendation #17 To: San Diego, California State University

To ensure that it receives feedback from employee representatives on conditions associated with their work environments and that it develops appropriate interventions, San Diego should ensure that its joint committee records meeting minutes and provides copies of the minutes and other information to the systemwide joint committee, as requested.

6-Month Agency Response

The campus joint safety committee now records meeting minutes and provides copies of the minutes to the committee members. The minutes are also maintained with the Joint Safety Committee Secretary in Facilities Services. Minutes are also available to the Systemwide Health and Safety Committee upon request.

60-Day Agency Response

Charge for re-structuring of current safety committee includes drafting procedures including reports to memorialize a compliant approach and assure continued adherence to Collective Bargaining Agreement. Meeting minutes and distribution of minutes will be a central tenant of the new procedures currently under development. Approach will include a process for independent confirmation of minutes distribution.
