The State's Ineffective Approach to Affordable Housing Development

Senate Bill 5 Enacts the Affordable Housing Bond Act of 2022 which, if adopted by voters, would authorize the issuance of $6.5 billion in bonds used to fund affordable rental housing and ownership programs.
Senate Bill 6 Enacts the Neighborhood Homes Act, which authorizes housing development on a parcel zoned for office or retail use.
Senate Bill 9 Requires local governments to follow a streamlined process for approving developments containing no more than two residential units within a single-family residential zone.
